A Little About Us
ToS was founded on my medical background incorporating a strong application in psychology which started when I owned two Leonberger cross dogs who developed territorial dog aggression. I began studying and researching effective methods to break dog aggression. Aggressive dog training is a multi-faceted approach.
A Layered Approach
When I first arrive at your home I assess breed issues which appear with a breed like the Pit Bull or a Bassett hound. These breeds have distinctive traits which tell me how difficult or easy a breed will be to train, and issues that are likely to surface.
Next I assess relationships between the dog and human. Then I assess their walking and how your dog responds to their environment.
The next layer to training is teaching the owners how their behaviour affects their dog and vice versa. I witnessed a client with two French bull dogs fighting like crazy with each other and the married couple fought the same with each other, mimicking and mirroring.
The owners must learn how their body language, and either actions or inactions can affect their dog.
The last layer is implementation, I correct difficult behaviours, and create innate learning where new behaviour becomes automatic through obedience and agility philosophies
